II. A SUMMARY People want to hear about radical centrist politics! Despite a tiny publicity budget, in the 12 months after Radical Middle was published Satin appeared on many nationally known talk radio shows, including The Tavis Smiley Show, The John Batchelor Show, The Ronn Owens Show, and The Barry Farber Show. He appeared on radio networks ranging from the radical (Pacifica), to the liberal (Air America), to the "official" (Voice of America), to the conservative (Talk Radio Network, aka TRN). He spoke at bookstores ranging from the funky Cody's on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley to the elegant Politics & Prose on upper Connecticut Avenue NW in Washington DC, and he lectured at venues ranging from Unity Church in Seattle to the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. (Satin told an incredulous Kennedy School crowd that, approx. 25 years earlier, he'd spoken on New Age politics there. See HERE for Satin's New Age Politics book tour schedule.) He appeared or radio shows in 17 of our 25 largest metro. areas:
Conclusion: There is interest in radical centrist ideas across the U.S. and across many political and cultural divides. |
